Cyclopure at PRISM Day 2024 in Austin, TX

Cyclopure’s Chief Product Officer, Dr. Yuhan Ling, was invited to speak on a panel at the 2024 PRISM (PFAS REDUCTION AND INNOVATION IN SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING) Day sponsored by Natcast.

The panel titled “Abatement Techniques and Considerations for PFAS Removal and Destruction” concerned the efficacy of PFAS capture, destruction, and abatement technology testing and evaluation on semiconductor waste emissions. PFAS chemistries used in semiconductor manufacturing are more difficult to contain and destroy given their short-chain and ultrashort-chain compounds. In comparison, long-chain compounds do not face this issue. Semiconductor waste is unique in its challenges as it deals with the complex environments of wastewater and air emissions. In this panel, speakers assessed the current state of PFAS abatement technologies, industry needs and obstacles, goals and criteria for achieving near-future PFAS solutions for semiconductor manufacturing. Dr. Yuhan Ling presented on DEXSORB® and its use as an absorbent for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances removal.

Panelists included Dr. Dave Speed of GlobalFoundries, Laurie Beu of Laurie S. Beu Consulting, Dr. Selma Mededovich Thagard of Clarkson University, Dr. Ryan Thomas of Parsons. The panel was moderated by Bob Leet, Owner/Consultant of Leet Environmental Consulting and took place on Tuesday, November 19th in Austin, Texas.
