Vice President, Research
Dr. Barin is an expert in the design, synthesis, and characterization of porous materials. At CycloPure, he leads scientific efforts towards developing and testing porous polymers for water treatment and various separation applications. Dr. Barin received his PhD from Northwestern University and he was a Miller Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley before joining to CycloPure. During his postdoctoral work, he worked on developing porous polymers for gas- and liquid-phase separations including toxic gas capture from air, separations of aromatic hydrocarbons, and removal and detection of metal ions for diagnostic applications.
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Cassou is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of CycloPure. He is an entrepreneurial leader with 30 years of experience as an executive and advisor to technology companies in Silicon Valley, San Diego, New York, and Washington, D.C. Mr. Cassou has spent his career helping technology companies grow their businesses, and is a recognized expert in the development of technology products, providing management of finance, IP, licensing and government affairs.
Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer
Dr. Dichtel is co-founder and Chief Science Officer of CycloPure. He is the lead inventor of the company’s technology and a pioneering chemist in the development of porous polymer networks known as covalent organic frameworks (COFs), as well as other types of porous polymers. Dichtel’s research has been recognized with several national and international awards, including a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 2015 for his innovations in polymer chemistry. Dr. Dichtel received a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He performed postdoctoral research at UCLA and Caltech before joining the faculty of Cornell University in 2008. In 2016, Dr. Dichtel and the Dichtel Research Group relocated to Northwestern University, where he is currently the Robert L. Letsinger Professor of Chemistry. Dichtel Research Group.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Harding is Chief Financial Officer of CycloPure, with 30 years of senior financial management experience for international wireless carriers and wireless technology development companies. Prior to CycloPure, Mr. Harding served as Chief Financial Officer for NextWave Wireless and for Cricket Wireless. He served ten years at QUALCOMM, Inc., where he held senior positions, including Vice President, Corporate Controller, Vice President Finance, CDMA and Vice President Finance, International. Mr. Harding earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Alliant International University.
Chief Marketing Officer
Mr. Berger is Chief Marketing Officer of CycloPure and responsible for the company's marketing and branding initiatives. An experienced entrepreneur, he has served as a senior marketing and business development executive in telecommunication and technology companies for over 30 years. Mr. Berger serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations focused on helping children in need and recently served as CEO of a nonprofit agency that provides mental health services to underserved children and families.
Co-Inventor, Water Treatment
Damian is a co-inventor of the company’s technology, He is the co-author of the January 14, 2016 Nature article, Rapid removal of organic micropollutants from water by a porous beta-cyclodextrin polymer. Dr. Helbling heads the Helbling Research Group at Cornell University, and is a Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. Helbling conducted the first study of micropollutants in the Hudson River, which was reported in July 2016.
Co-Inventor, Fiber Sciences
Juan co-authored the company’s article on fiber science technology in the October 25, 2016 issue Chemistry of Materials. Dr. Hinestroza directs the Textiles Nanotechnology Lab at Cornell University, and is a Professor of Fiber Science at the College of Human Ecology. His work focuses on exploring new pathways for creating multifunctional fibers through nanoscale manipulations.
